Adam Richards is a Director practicing in the Family and Matrimonial Department of Marshall Diel and Myers Limited. Adam joined the firm in February 2009. He has experience in all areas of matrimonial and family law with a particular interest in financial proceedings ancillary to divorce. Adam is a confident and accomplished advocate who previously worked as a Barrister at Temple Chambers in the United Kingdom where he developed a strong family based practice, regularly appearing in the County Court and High Court. Adam continues to conduct cases of ranging complexities and has routinely appeared in trials in the Supreme Court and before the Court of Appeal for Bermuda.

Noted Cases

Woolridge v Woolridge; Civil Appeal 2010: No. 15
Successfully argued that the award made to the wife at first instance was insufficient to meet her needs. The case involved the treatment of assets inherited by the husband. Appeal allowed and award increased from $115,000 to $300,000

S v S Civil Appeal 2009 No. 19 Appeal on behalf of the mother against a shared care and control order. Appeal allowed and the matter remitted for further hearing.

Santucci v Bell Santucci [2011] SC (Bda) 48 Div Appeared on behalf of a wife in defended divorce proceedings. Successfully persuaded the Court that the wife had not behaved unreasonably and the divorce was refused.
