Background

Born and raised in Bermuda, Rachael obtained a BA in Sociology at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada and a law degree at the Osgoode Hall Law School in Ontario, Canada.  Rachael was called to the Ontario and Bermuda Bar in 2002 and she articled and worked for the City of Toronto as in-house counsel for three years before returning to Bermuda to live in 2004.   Rachael worked for Marshall Diel & Myers as a summer student in 1998, and returned to practice as an associate in 2004. She was appointed as a director of Marshall Diel & Myers Limited in 2012.

Early in her practice with Marshall Diel & Myers Limited, Rachael decided to specialize in matrimonial and family law after assisting senior partner Georgia Marshall with several matrimonial cases.  Rachael is now involved in every area of family law practice including but are not limited to: divorce; resolving financial issues upon divorce, property and financial settlements involving multi-jurisdictional issues and Trusts, pre and post nuptial agreements,  children’s issues including custody, access and financial support; and domestic violence protection order proceedings.  She has extensive experience in all levels of Court in Bermuda while also being trained in mediation.

Rachael is committed to assisting clients as they navigate through the difficult issues surrounding the breakdown of family relations while also providing experienced representation in the Courts in order to uphold their rights and interests.
